It was a long walk from the Port to New Foreston for Brist. He had only been released from prison a week or two earlier, so he was still getting used to not having to worry about what other people around him were doing. Unlike most people who can say that they were a convicted felon, he didn't so much have an air of aggression so much as distrust. "It's great to be able to get some fresh air again, not that I ever had it before but it's a good feeling..." during his time in prison, he had taken up a habit of talking to himself. Eventually, he came to the front door of the pokemon lab for the region, not so much to get a starting pokemon, he already had Aquilo and that was all he'd need for awhile. He was there to get starter equipment as he had nothing but the clothes on his back to work with at the moment.

" I'm coming." A voice sounding like it didn't belong to anyone older than a teenager would sound from the inside of the lab. A few seconds later, the door would open revealing the person who the voice had belonged to. Before Brist stood a teenage boy no older than he with glasses, a lab coat and a bowl cut. " Hello my name is Professor Evergreen, I am the researcher in charge of the New Foreston Pokemon Lab. May I help you?"

"Well, I suppose that if you're in charge I'll go ahead and say it, I'm starting my pokemon journey and I need some starting equipment. I already have a pokemon of my own, so I'm fine on that part. Brist Kisagi, good to meet you." He was a little worried that someone would think he was simply trying to -act- respectful so as not to look like he's judging the professor's age. Respecting authority was simply another lesson he had learned over the years and he wouldn't blow it now.

" It's nice to meet you as well Brist. Well since you're here for your equipment for your journey and already have your pokemon then follow me." Professor Evergreen would say in a kind voice as he would lead Brist to the back of the pokemon lab where everything for new trainers was kept. As they arrived in the back room, they would pass four tables that had pokeballs on them, containing the starter pokemon for new trainers, arriving at a new table. Here on the table would be a variety of items all lined up. " These are the items that are given to all trainers that come here to start their journey. They are given a pokedex, pokegear, 5 pokeballs, 2 potions and $2000. You may take these items to assist you on your journey."

"well, certainly charitable that you give free money to anyone that comes in and says that they want to start a journey, but I'm not going to complain about a gift." Not that he was especially interested in filling a pokedex, the necessities were very handy for someone that didn't have anything to work with. "So, is there anything else that I'll need to know before I leave? You know, places to go or not to go. People to see or ones I'd rather not?"

" Well if you're going for Gyms, you'll find the first of them in Norm City and if you wish to do contests, you'll be able to get a Contest Pass in Blue Bay." Professor Evergreen would respond motioning to a map of the Shouto region. " Other than that, you're free to explore the region as you like. You may even find mysteries that have yet to be solved by anyone."

"well then, if that's all then I guess I'll just cut it into the wilds. Have a good one, sir." With that, Brist walked toward the door and paused for a second in case there was a response and then stepped out into the fresh air.

" Good luck, and welcome to the Region of Shouto." Professor Evergreen would say as Brist went to take his leave.
