If you haven't seen the new episodes of Best Wishes,DonT READ How the hell did Shooti already get a Hatapoo,A Jenovilia or whatever Tsurtaga's second evolution is called, and a Pururiru.I believe he's just there to be another paul,Someone to kick Ash's ass at any moment the writers say so.

I agree and it really doesn't make sense that Shooti is as strong as he is this fast. They seem to be trying to create a combo on Paul and Gary by giving him Paul's skill and Gary's cockiness. The problem with this being that in spite of how it had seemed at first that Paul was a new trainer, it was later disproved by us learning that he had been a trainer at least as long as Ash had and Gary had gotten knocked down a peg when he was beaten by Gionanni and then later in the league losing in the preliminaries showing that he could talk big but still had much to learn. Shooti on the other hand, we know for a fact that he's a new trainer as we saw him get his first pokemon and pokedex and yet is still taking on Ash, who's an experienced trainer, and winning easily.
The problem is that the writers like writing up the rivals as being unbeatable by Ash until the league where he suddenly is able to surpass them and win. The main problem is, this doesn't make for a compelling nor an interesting rivalry as it is completely one sided until the point that it matters. I really just hope that this isn't going to be the trend for the rest of Isshu because it's predictable, thus making it less interesting to watch and it makes Shooti come off as a Gary Stu given that any time Ash gets cocky, he gets knocked down a peg but Shooti has been cocky since he met Ash and has thus far been allowed to get away with it.

I mean tottaly. For Now on im gonna call shooti "Gaul" Just because you pointed that out.Yet I mean Ash's Pikachu,as we see in like half the Openings, endings, and Movies. Can use thunderbolt that can Dang near have the radius of My fairly small neighborhood. In game sense,Its over level 70.Yet Gets Taken out by a level 5 Tstutaga. It wouldve been worse if It was a Mijumaru(I love that pokemon so much). I dont believe its Just the Writer's Fault,I also believe its the Common sense the writers are forgeting about,Pikachu's been through - Kanto
- Johto
- Hoenn
- Battle Frontier
- Sinnoh
- Multiple contest and Other Events such as Pokethon
- Has met damn near every Frickin Legendary in existance
- Brung ash back to life with Thunderbolt and tears
- AND EVERY SINGLE LEAUGE
And thats just the begining

If you ask me, the writers need to stop writing out these rivals that Ash is beaten by all through the region only to win during the league. I wish that they would portray battles more like how Ash's first battle with Barry went with both sides seeming evenly matched both coming down to their last pokemon. That battle may have gone by fast only being maybe 5 minutes, but IMO it had been one of the best non league rival battles shown in the series since it showed what a rival is supposed to be, an opponent who both pushes you to the limit and you push to the limit.

And while we're on the subject of Barry, why can't Ash have a friendly rival? I mean when it came to Barry, both he and Ash had great chemistry that they were both rivals and friends at the same time. He even stayed after he was eliminated in the Sinnoh league to cheer Ash on while all his other rivals left. Just a shame that he didn't have as big a role in the Galactic plot like he had in the games.
I just don't see why Ash's main rivals have to be assholes. I mean Paul didn't like Ash because he remined him of his brother and Shooti's an arrogant ass who thinks that Ash is a hillbili and a weak trainer because he's from Kanto.
